An Update on the Future of SRIC

Over the past year, SRIC’s Executive Officers and Institutional Member Congregations working together have undertaken a careful assessment of the coalition’s future.

Together, they reviewed the coalition’s long-term sustainability, reflected on the changing landscape of shareholder advocacy, listened to the perspectives of our members, and explored the opportunities and challenges facing SRIC in the years ahead. After careful consideration, these leaders came to the difficult conclusion that the coalition should begin the process of responsibly concluding its operations by the end of 2026.

While this decision is a difficult one, it also gives us the opportunity to celebrate everything SRIC has accomplished during its 44-year history.

Since its founding, SRIC has brought together faith-based investors committed to promoting corporate responsibility through shareholder advocacy, education, and collaboration. Together, our members have engaged companies on issues including human rights, environmental stewardship, healthcare, racial justice, workers’ rights, and corporate governance. Through these efforts, SRIC has helped amplify the voices of faith-based investors and advance meaningful corporate change.

As part of this transition, we are committed to honoring SRIC’s legacy and helping members continue their responsible investment work through other organizations and collaborative partnerships. Additional information about these opportunities will be shared in the coming months.

We are profoundly grateful to the many religious communities, organizations, board members, staff, partners, and supporters whose dedication has shaped SRIC over the past four decades. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility.

Although SRIC’s operations are coming to a close, the values that have guided our work—faith, justice, collaboration, and responsible stewardship—will continue through the people and organizations who carry this mission forward.

As we conclude this chapter, our final Annual Report offers an opportunity to reflect on the progress we made together during the past fiscal year while celebrating the relationships, accomplishments, and shared values that have defined SRIC throughout its history. We hope this report serves as a meaningful tribute to the coalition’s legacy and to the many member congregations, board members, partners, and supporters whose dedication made that legacy possible.

Thank you for your support, your partnership, and your commitment to creating a more just and sustainable world. We are proud of the legacy we have built together.
